This March Don Presant led a workshop panel of innovative practitioners that explored examples and case studies from North America, Europe and Africa in a Webinar titles “Putting the Pieces Together: Getting Started with Micro-Credentials in Global Perspective“.

The panel included:

  • Gwen Zeldenrust, co-chair of the Micro-credential Strategy at Mohawk College, Canada
  • Dominic Orr, adjunct Professor at University of Nova Gorica , and a member of the Management Team at the atingi.org learning platform, GIZ, Germany
  • Sarah Peake, Associate Dean, Flexible Learning at Humber College, Canada
  • Satu Järvinen, founder and CEO of SkillSafari.io, Finland

The panel focused on non formal and informal sectors, which comprise the bulk of labour in emerging markets. The workshop helped participants understand how these innovators moved their initiatives forward from idea to implementation, and in the process gave recognition to all forms of learning.
